Bob Thomas, a native of Newport News, Virginia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina and an Associate of Arts degree in Broadcast Arts from The Broadcast Academy in Richmond, Virginia. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal and many certificates of meritorious service and achievement. He launched his broadcasting career in 1980 and has gone on to accumulate more than twenty years of experience in the broadcasting field. As a broadcaster, Bob has handled the challenge of many roles including that of Program Director, Production Director, Music Director, News Announcer, Public Service Director, and On Air Personality.
Bob has expanded his horizon to include voiceovers, serving as host of "Midnight Love" on BET and as staff announcer of "BET on JAZZ." Other voiceover work performed: staff announcer for WHUT-TV 32 in Washington, DC; national and regional commercials and television shows including The United College Fund, Fresh Groove, Dance Connection, For Your Love, The Hughleys’, as well as government narrations for the U.S. Army and The Department of Agriculture.
Add to his list of accomplishments: a public speaker, master of ceremonies for many concerts, fashion shows, beauty pageants and toastmaster events, ring announcer for boxing matches, entrepreneur-founder and chairman of voiceworks, inc. (company specializing in voiceovers), the image voice for a host of radio stations across the country and an interviewer of entertainers, politicians and business leaders. Bob, who is a long time supporter of community programs and charitable organizations, has been called upon to be a spokesperson and special fundraiser for The United College Fund and has annually, assisted the United States Air Force Bands’ Summer Concert series. He was the recipient of the "Night Time Excellence in Radio Award" and has been nominated for the Radio and Records "Air Talent Of The Year Award."
