There's so much I can type. Truth is I'm still in shock at the news that Lawrence "DJ Law" Brown passed away over the weekend. I will miss those Happy Mother's day texts, every year, no matter where I was, from out of nowhere, here comes a text wishing me Happy Mother's day from DJ LAW. I mean we had not spoken in 4 years, but he'd text me Happy Mother's Day. How thoughtful. He reminded me, when we worked together, how I got him into radio. He said that I was on the air overnight on 103 jamz and he was my fan (imagine that). He called to request a song and asked me how to apply for a job there.  I told him, he did it, and was immediately hired. I must admit, I was mixed with pride and jealousy to see him advance so quickly in the business, but I sincerely loved him. The Boodah Brothers......my brothers. R.I.P. DJ LAW. You are already missed.

Hey, ladies take an early lunch or a late breakfast, and join me at the Clinique counter at Dillards at McArthur Mall. I'll be there this morning, March 8th, at 11:00 am, getting a much needed make-over. You never know what you might you receive!!!!
You know not many people can say they love waking up and going to work. But last month (September), I celebrated 20 years of being in radio, and I can honestly say I've been enjoying my career choice. And here's some of the reasons why I love my job...
Notice there are more men than women. So far. There are so many more and I'll eventually put them up, but for now...I love my job. :)
My Grandmother was my "pretty lady", God rest her soul. And as a child I can remember her referring to Stevie Wonder as"Lil Stevie", of course because he started in show business as a child and he had a couple of albums that were titled Little Stevie. But I believe my grandmother might have had a special feeling for Stevie Wonder because of his multi - talented, extraordinarily gifted personality that was never detered by his handicap. So of course, even though he's a little older than I, I will always think of him as "Lil Stevie". Well the man is grown up now and coming to Norfolk.  Stevie Wonder is coming to the Constant Center October 25th and I will be fortunate to be able to go and see this icon's outstanding performance. And while I watch, I will think of my "Pretty Lady", Fannie Blanche Jones Riddick.
It was an absolutely glorious night, as I watched Hall of Famer Bruce Smith honored for his work with Operation Smile. I learned so much more about this special man, met his beautiful wife and handsome son, who looks just like him and got his second sac this past week. The atmosphere was electric, the food was great, the people were awsome. And to top it all off, Eddie Levert performed at the end. WOW!!! How blessed I felt.  Thanks Melanie Bariso Agustin.  These are some of the pictures. Stay tuned for the video. :)
I just wanted to take the time to say welcome back to school to all of the future. Know that you are the future, and make the most of your present while you are learning. And I suggest that you listen to President Obama's speech about your returning to school, because on those rainy days, when everything seems to be too challenging, you can always refer back to the President's great advice. And please know this, they can never take prayer out of school, because they can never take prayer out of you. You can talk to the Creator anytime you want to, without closing your eyes or bowing your head. Now go forth and be great, because you are our future.
 wait a minute...I'mstill a baby...Ok...well let's just PLAY then!!!
NSU tailgate was off the chain. I had too much fun with Cee-Breeze bus tours. This was a great way to end the Labor Day weekend...is that Mos Def and Gabriel Union at the game?

It was absolutely wonderful attending the 5th Annual Black Expo, exposing so many minority owned businesses. The keynote speaker, Mr. George Fraser was outstanding. The performances were awesome, and meeting the beautiful Lisa Raye, and the oh so fine Morris Chestnut was a delightful treat. Here are some of the pics from the expo and stay tuned for the video blog.
Hey, I just wanted to say that I have been so fortunate as to have met some great people in this business. Not only celebrities, but also the interns that have worked here this summer, one namely, Ms. Tiffany Green.
I first met Tiffany at Norfolk State University in her communications class, in which I was invited to speak about my job, by Dr. Paula Briggs. Tiffany did a great job interning and will go very far in the communications field. We here at Entercom wish all of our interns the very best in their future endeavors. Thank you for the beautiful pink roses. I love them. They made my day!
