On May 16, 2015 my daughter Kristin Bria will be graduating from The College of William and Mary with a BA in Theater and Government. It seems like just yesterday when I dropped her off in kindergarten. I remember telling Kristin that she was smart, beautiful, that education is the passport to the future, that hard work and good grades pays off and to have integrity. I know you my think that's a lot to tell a kindergartner, but I wanted to start instilling in her early these important values. I remember the evening before I was to have my ultrasound. I was lying on the couch and the baby kicked for the first time, it startled me so I sat up. When I sat up, I heard a voice that said. "It's a girl..name her Kristin." And I did! Kristin I am so proud of all your accomplishments. Your are a very beautiful and talented young lady. As I write this... I can't stop the tears from streaming down my eyes, but I truly thank God for allowing me to bring you into this world. What a blessing you have been in my life. Congratulations! I love you so much! Continue to put God first and He will take you places that you never dreamed of! #williamandmary

When people would say to me enjoy your children, because they grow up so fast. I would think… shoot…they are not growing up fast enough. But now I get! Boy do I get it! Kristin is a senior at The College of William and Mary and will graduate in May 2015. Collin is a senior at Cape Henry Collegiate and will graduate in June 2015. Where has the time gone… my babies have grown up so fast. Of course I am very proud of them, but sometimes I wish for the days when they were little again. I guess it’s just me having a hard time of letting go, but I must for all of us to grow. I send them out praying that God will continue to cover them with His favor and blessings. I also pray that God will grant them the desires of their hearts as they enter the next chapter of their lives. I guess I gotta get a life now huh? As I always tell Kristin and Collin….Don‘t let anyone define you, you define yourself. And lastly…. I always leave them with this…..Always put God first and He will take you to places that you never dreamed of. #proudmommie #theywillalwaysbemybabies
My heavenly Father, as I enter this work place, I bring your presence with me. I speak your peace, your grace, your mercy, and your perfect order into this office. I acknowledge your power over all that will be spoken, thought, decided, and done within these walls. Lord, I thank you for the gifts you have blessed me with. I commit to using them responsibly in your honor. Give me a fresh supply of strength to do my job. Anoint my projects, ideas, and energy; so that even my smallest accomplishment may bring you glory. Lord when I am confused, guide me. When I am weary, energize me. When I am burned out, infuse me with the light of the Holy Spirit. May the work that I do and the way that I do it bring faith, joy and a smile to all I come in contact with today. And oh Lord, when I leave this place, give me traveling mercy. Bless my family and home to be in the order as I left it. Lord I thank you for everything you’ve done, everything you’re doing and everything you’re going to do. In the name of Jesus I pray with much love and Thanksgiving…… Amen
1. Be Impeccable with your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love.
2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
