Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) Animated Deadpool Series Heads to FXX

Network expects the series to debut in 2018

May 11, 2017

Is there anything Donald Glover can't do? Nope, not really. The 33-year-old writer, producer, director, actor, rapper also known as Childish Gambino is set to produce a new animated series featuring Marvel's raunchy superhero Deadpool.

The still-untitled show is set to debut next year and will air on the cable network FXX. The network has said the series will be similar to 2009's R-rated, live-action Deadpool movie, starring Ryan Reynolds, which was a box office hit. Glover's popular television show, "Atlanta," which he writes with his brother, Stephen, currently airs on FXX as well. The brothers will reportedly write on the upcoming series as well. Meanwhile, Glover is also slated to star as a young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars spinoff.

To the disappointment of some, Glover's musical alter ego Childish Gambino isn't expected to do much in the way of concerts this summer. He's so far only scheduled to appear at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York in June.
